Nothing moving over our area last night. The forecast calls for a cold front to pass overnight, unfortunately it’s unclear whether migration will get kickstarted early enough for us to see some birds on Sunday morning. It looks as if we may get stuck with the front clearing our area by midnight, but still inland to our north, prohibiting the birds north and northeast from making it to our area on Sunday. The areas to our northeast will clear before us, and the birds there will likely move this evening, but may pass us to our south. On Sunday, we’ll see some good NW winds which, as Chris Aquila pointed out, will likely be good for raptor migration. Sunday night we’d expect a good push of migrants over our area, but without any weather to put it down. So, Monday morning at Higbee’s beach or Sandy Hook will likely be pretty hot (for birds, as the temperature will be chilly!).
