Birds are on the move tonight, both directly above us and heading towards us from the north. The radar is showing a very large and strong signal indicating large densities of migrants overhead. There also seems to be some precipitation heading our way from the west…will this cause the birds to “fall out” sometime tonight or by morning? I’ll keep an eye on the radar, but you should plan to take a few hours in the morning to check your local areas. With NE winds and approaching rain anywhere could be good, but the coast would not be my first choice. The rain is forecast to fizzle out, so the NE wind could override it and allow birds to fly through it, again, only time will tell.
Also, if the sky is clear before sunrise, check out the Orionid meteor shower. Details can be found here or by going over to SpaceWeather.com.
