Morning Update:
Here’s the radar loop from 11:45pm last night, through sunrise this morning (frames at 30 minute intervals, sorry for any confusion):
In the absence of any weather forcing birds to land, migration continued unabated throughout the night until sunrise when birds drop out of the radar’s view.

I saw an interesting movement of Flickers (50+) in the early morning of March 31. These birds were flying along the shore at Reed’s Beach and continuing north along the bayshore. I frequently see this in late-Sept/early-Oct as birds will fly up the bayshore after deciding not to cross the bay at Cape May, but this was the first time I’ve noted such a flight in the spring.
Tom- that’s a really cool sighting! It’s neat to see groups of single species like that. After a big spring fallout on the Dry Tortugas there were about 250 Yellow-billed Cuckoos, in flocks of 25 – 50, moving together around the fort. It was pretty wild to spook a flock as you unknowingly walked under a tree they were in. Thanks for the sighting post.
