Of course as soon as I returned from the AOU conference all ready to start posting the radar, the weather stinks for migration over New Jersey. Southeast winds are predicted for the next three nights, leaving little in the way of migration opportunity. Since it’s still on the early side, I don’t think birds will be to eager to leave under such conditions. I’ll watch the radar and post an update if things don’t go as expected. Wondering what I had missed, I checked the pile of radar images that were waiting for me when I returned and noticed a pretty good movement of birds over our area on Wednesday night (8/24) into Thursday morning (8/25).
