East Coast migration is in full effect tonight! Here are two single images, the first from tonight, where you can see all the East Coast radar sites lighting up at 9:30pm. The second is from last night, around the same time, and you can see the central flyway was just ablaze with migration, while we were under the influence of Rita’s remains. I’ll post the full radar early tomorrow morning- but the take-home message is, GO BIRDING! Sandy Hook, Cape May, you name it- it’ll be birdy. I’ll bet Blake’s new scope on it.
Good Birding! 🙂

OK, Dave, it’s 5 am, and I’m skipping my treadmill time to go out before work! I did that yesterday to no avail – few birds, so that part of your observations proved correct, though it certainly was beautiful out. Guess I’ll go back to the same spot, 6 Mile Run, just to give you a true “ground proofing.” Also, I suspect that warblers may make up less of this flight, so maybe a combined woods-and-field location is a better bet to pick up those loads of white-throats! Thanks for that early heads up, I would not have gone out today otherwise.
Ummm…..I’m not sure you’re allowed to bet my scope.
