No migration last night

Nothing on the radar for the Northeast, although the Southeast and Central US were ablaze with birds. So far it looks like Thursday night should be the night for migration over the Garden State. With no precipitation forecast for overnight on Thursday, the local migrant traps would be the best bet on Friday morning.

  1. Great website, David. I’m a grad student at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, and I’m doing bird migration research.

I am out catching birds almost every day, but I haven’t seen a big push of migrants come through yet. I was glad to see your NEXRAD reports show similar things. I’ll be sure to check in when larger numbers do start moving through.

I’m interested in White-Throated Sparrows, so if anyone out there (preferably MI, OH, PN) is starting to see them in large numbers let me know by posting here!
