Heavy migration: Night 4

As was expected, this fourth night of northerly winds and clear skies made for a bird-laden atmosphere. Here’s the radar from 7:00pm last night through 5:00am this morning.

Last night winds were generally northeasterly across the region, turning southerly by morning over the Delmarva Peninsula. Again, the radars across the northeastern and mid-Atlantic US indicated heavy migration on a generally ENE–>WSW trajectory. This will tend to favor inland sites across the region this morning, although all sites should be hosting new birds simply due to the cumulative effects of four nights of migration.

Good Birding
