I’m out the door early this morning, but I just wanted to drop a note that migration was moderate to heavy across the mid-Atlantic last night. Expect good birding conditions at coastal migrant traps such as Sandy Hook and Cape May.

Very ligth migration this morning in Cumberland County – East Point. I didn’t get there as early as a Monday, but still, not much numbers wise. Usually stuff lingers. I heard from other birders about the same for the county.
3 PHOEBES were nice. As was another YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER.
8 FLICKERS
20 or so SAVANAH SPARROWS
Today at Sandy Hook, it was all about quality and not quantity. To the best of our knowledge there were at least 15 sp. of warbler inc. Connecticut in the garden and 3 Cape Mays at Horshoe Cove and 2 Tenn along the bicycle path off the road to nowhere. Northern Parula were the most numerous warbler after Common-Yellowthroat. 2 Lark Sparrows were seen together at K-Lot. 2 Lincoln’s Sparrows were also tabulated. A Phila.Vireo was near the rusty barn and Yellow-Bellied Fly. was also along the bicycle path in same place as the Tenn. warblers. It was a very nice day and very rewarding.
