The last two nights have been a bust, in terms of migration activity. Southerly winds and steady rain have kept migrants grounded across the region, which has had some good results as far as birding is concerned. A Western Kingbird at the hawkwatch in Cape May, and many sparrows across the region (including a LeConte’s and many Vespers), have been welcome sights for area birders. Tonight is looking a bit brighter in terms of migrants, and might be a good opportunity to do some moonwatching (see below). I’ll be winding down the migration posts this week as we transition into winter, but before that happens, we have coordinated another national moonwatching event for the November full moon. Please see the details here: http://www.woodcreeper.com/moonwatching-2009/ or by following the link on the right sidebar of this web page.
Good Birding!
