Strong southerly winds along the east coast kept migration to a minimal over our region. Not so for the middle of the US, as you can see by checking out my last Tweet (in the right-hand sidebar). The Central Flyway was GOING OFF with some HEAVY migration. So you feel cheated? Well don’t- because tonight we should see a hefty flight out of the Northeast and into the Mid-Atlantic as winds turn northwest later today. I’ll post the radar tomorrow morning and hopefully shed some light on what transpired.
On another note, my wife gave birth to our second little girl this morning! Rosa Lark La Puma was born at home, at 5:18am (the midwives wondered why my computer automatically turned on and started downloading the radar at 5:00am). Baby, Mom, Dad and Sister are all doing great.
See you here tomorrow!
Good Birding

Congrats!!!!!!!
Congratulations to everyone! (and) thank you for posting radar information, my sis and I are glued to it, heading to Cape May this Thursday…yeah!
Congrats and Rosa, welcome to the world!
Congrats on your new addition. Love the name just like Corinna Wren.
It appears that NOAA is axing the buoys info which is bad news for those of us who check on it to gauge where we should go for Fall migration. There is nothing there to look at as of today. We’ll be going to Sandy Hook tomorrow as it appears from other weather sources that NW winds are in store. Hopefully tomorrow will be the big one for the Hook
birdwise.
NIx what I said the comments above about the buoy. It is offline only temporarily due to maintenance and will be back online after 9AM tomorrow.
Big ol’ Virginia Congrats! Glad everyone is doing well.
We are in the middle of Hawk watch here in the Shenandoah Valley.
Congratulations
Congratulations to you and your family!!
Now I feel real bad about wondering why you didn’t post yesterday!
Congratulations! Brought into the world right when the radar was downloaded…. I sense a future morning counter!
Congratulations!
