More coastal migration last night! (and again I’m sick as a dog). Here is the radar from sunset last night through 5:00am this morning.
Frames are every 1/2 hour. Click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized animation.
Light winds mean that birds were heading on the ‘typical’ track- which is NNE->SSW down the east coast. Fall migrant traps both inland (along interior ridges in NJ) and coastal should see new birds this morning with the majority of birds falling out inland of the coast. It’s going to take some NW winds to really bring a heavy flight to the coastal locales, but this steady flow over the last three nights has yielded some good birds regardless.
Good Birding
