National Overview
Well, I think for the most part you could read yesterday morning’s post and the take-home message would be the same. Migration was primarily along a narrow band between South Texas and Northern Minnesota while the rest of the East is in a holding pattern until the next system pushes through which is looking like late Monday or early Tuesday for the Midwest and Wednesday night for the East Coast.
Below are the radar loops from sunset last night through 5:00am this morning

Nothing going on over New Jersey last night. It’s hard to say why, exactly, as the radiosonde data (upper-level winds) is not loading properly from the NCAR website (http://weather.rap.ucar.edu/upper/). It looks like winds were out of the north over most of the Mid-Atlantic last night which most likely caused the dearth of migration.
Wisconsin (Upper Midwest)

The Upper Midwest was a little more productive last night but most of the action was west of Wisconsin. Over Wisconsin we had a short burst of activity early in the night which was quickly shut down as winds kicked up from the northeast (Milwaukee) and east (La Crosse). Expect localized movement to result in small changes in bird composition today, with some birds clearing out of the Milwaukee area and moving farther inland from the lakes shore.
Good Birding,
David
