  • No migration last night

    Nothing on the radar for the Northeast, although the Southeast and Central US were ablaze with birds. So far it looks like Thursday night should be the night for migration over the Garden State. With no precipitation forecast for overnight on Thursday, the local migrant traps would be the best bet on Friday morning.

    The Central Flyway Cuba, and Florida are experiencing some nice migration, but the Mid-Atlantic to the Northeast are under north winds and showing no signs of activity. Expect the poor conditions to continue through the remainder of the week.

    North winds tonight over the NE. Nothing doing on the NEXRAD either, and the feed for me to download images is down as well. Hopefully some weekend warrior at Rutgers Meteorology is reading my emails…

  • Radar Down – Little Migration

    I checked two sources for the Fort DIX NEXRAD and both were down last night. The images I downloaded were missing the radar data as well. I was able to find one source, which showed light migration over the Northeast, with heavier movements in the Southeastern and Central US.
